After all of the practical advice, I got a little nerdy in my drawing feedback today. Every once in a while you've got to do it! I've been doing a lot of writing lately, trying to figure out what is I'm trying to capture in my artwork. There's a lot of themes about transition, the contrast between states of being, polarities that become circles, the illusion of time and the ways that we experience it.

I've always hovered at the edges of things, where I can easily slip into shadow, comfortable in a certain lack of definition. It's my ability to slip, fluid-like into a container, with a core that feels to me, outside of time. This slipstream is where my good drawings come from, when technique and instinct synthesize.

In that same way, the edges of a turning form can seem to break reality apart, giving you places to play between what is there, and what is imagined. These lost edges are some of the most beautiful artifacts in art, and the mark of that synthesis between understanding and feeling. * There's a lot of prep work bts to put together my drawing course, so if you're interested in hearing more, sign up for my mailing list to stay informed. And if you're interested in being a test driver for the beta, send me an email and I'll put you on that list too. 😻
